About Factwiser
World economics, made clear: what it means for you.
Every weekday evening, Factwiser explains the day’s biggest economic news and what it means for ordinary people: your prices, your job, your mortgage, your savings. We start with Canada and will add the United States, Europe, India, Australia and China over time.
How each briefing works
- What happened, in a few facts, each linked to its source.
- How it hits your wallet, with real numbers for real households.
- History check: when something similar happened before, and what followed.
- What to watch: two or three possible scenarios, never firm predictions.
- AI’s take: a short opinion on the decision or policy, clearly labelled.
The Canada Pocket Index tracks the numbers that touch your wallet most: the dollar, interest rates, inflation, jobs and oil.
Who makes it
Factwiser is researched and drafted by an AI system that runs privately on our own computer, using official public sources such as the Bank of Canada and Statistics Canada. A human editor reviews every briefing and writes the Editor’s note. Read exactly how we use AI.
Factwiser is a KnowReva project.
Our promises
- Every fact has a source you can check.
- We fix mistakes openly on our corrections page.
